Our British racing green MGB comes with overdrive and a comprehensive history file and story including a certified copy of the factory production record from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust. This is not a concours car, it's a real runner ready to be enjoyed. REG64 was manufactured in Abingdon, England by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) between 31st Dec 1971 and 3rd Jan 1972. The car was dispatched to Lookers Ltd, Bradford. The NZTA notes the car being registered in Porirua, Wellington region on 15 Dec 1988. Ownership of the vehicle was transferred in Oct 1990 to Mr G Seaton of Chch under the reg plate OA5928. at 97,130 miles. Mr Seaton commenced work on a restoration and began purchasing the parts needed from R & R Sports Car Spares & Restorations in 1991 including new wings, sills, rails and door skins. The car’s history file notes work completed by Restoration Specialties and parts purchased from R&R Moss during 1993, 1994, 1995. In April 1996 Doug’s Paint & Panel Ltd of Addington Chch quoted $1,600 and completed a repaint of the car in British Racing Green. On the 7/8/1996 the vehicle was tested at Lichfield Street Vehicle testing station then re-licenced. The most recent owner completed the following: Engine rebore New water pump Isolator switch & starter motor New Wiper blades and arms Rear shackle bushes Engine oil feed pipe Speedo cleaned and reset Serviced front shock absorbers Clutch master cylinder Chrome wheel rings New windscreen The car will be sold complete with comprehensive history files, original brochure set, Haynes manual & picnic set, recent WOF and rego and a brand new carpet set. The odometer is in miles. Rust proofed during the restoration. The car runs and drives well. The paint work has some bubbling and also has slightly darkened on the bonnet.
